Eight Indian-origin cricketers you might not know who represent other countries.

1. Rachin Ravindra

New Zealand’s 23 years old rising star Rachin Ravindra has recently hit 2 centuries in the ongoing World Cup campaign.

Rachin is the fourth kiwi batter who knocked a century on his ODI world cup debut by 123 runs off just 96 balls against England.

His second century came against Australia on 29 October in the World Cup.

He was born on 18 November 1999 in Wellington, New Zealand. He started playing hard cricket in Wellington at the age of 5.

Ravindra was seen in the New Zealand squad for the first time in the Test series against Bangladesh in 2021. He has the role of all-rounder in the New Zealand team.

Rachin Ravindra is of Indian roots.

His father Ravi Krishnamurthy is a Software Architect. He used to live in Bengaluru.

He and his wife settled in New Zealand in 1997.

2. Keshav Maharaj

Keshav Athmanand Maharaj is a South African lead-red ball spinner. He was born on 7 February 1990 in Durban, South Africa.

He is of Indian ancestry.

His great-grandfather belonged to Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, and later migrated to Durban in 1847 as an indentured Labourer.

Keshav Maharaj married his longtime Girlfriend Lerisha Munsamy in 2022.

Lerisha Munsamy is a Kathak dancer.

3. Hashim Amla

South African Batsman Hashim Amla

Hashim Mohammed Amla is a Muslim South African top-order right-handed batsman.

He was born on 31 March 1983 in Durban, Natal Province, South Africa.

He played all formats of the game. He also holds the record for the highest individual test score of any South African Batsman 311 not out scored against England at the Oval, London in July 2012.

He is of Indian ancestry. His grandfather migrated to South Africa from Surat, Gujarat, India in 1927.

He is married to Sumaiyah and the couple have two children.

4. Aryan Dutt

The Dutch 20-year-old right-arm off-spinner. Aryan Dutt recently is playing for the Netherlands in an ongoing World Cup tournament.

He was born in 2003 in the Hague and grew up in Amsterdam.

He has a link to India.

His father belongs to Hashlapur, Punjab, India .

His family moved to the Netherlands in 1980.

5. Ravi Bopara

Ravinder Singh Bopara well known as ‘Ravi Bopara’ is an English cricketer.

He played for England from 2007 to 2015.

He has Indian Punjabi Sikh family Background.

6. Nasser Hussain

Nasser Hussain is a former English cricketer and Commentator.

He was born on 28, March 1968 in Madras which is known as Chennai in present time.

His father Raza Jawad was an Indian Muslim and he decided to migrate to England when Nasser was a child.

Nasser Hussain captained England between 1999 to 2003.

He has been married to his lover Karen since 1993.

Nasser and Karen have a daughter Layla and two Sons Joel and Jacob.

7. Ish Sodhi

Inderbir Singh Sodhi plays for New Zealand in all formats of the game. He was born in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. His family moved to New Zealand in 1996. His International debut for New Zealand came in a test match against Bangladesh.

He married his lover Angelina and they blessed a daughter Dahlia Lakshmi .

8. Stuart Clark

Stuart Rupert Clark is a former Australian right-arm fast medium bowler.

He was born in Sutherland, New south wales in 1975.

He is the son of Angelo’s Indian Parents. His father Bruce Clark is from Chennai and his mother Mary is from Kolar Gold fields { K.G.F}.

Stuart Clark was a part of the Australian team that won in 2007 World Cup.
