IPL - 2024 Updates: Gautam Gambhir returns to Kolkata knight riders
Indian politician and former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has quit from his post as a mentor for Lucknow Super Giants on Wednesday,
Nov 22. He has been mentoring LSG for two years, and under his guidance, LSG reached the final in the 2022 edition. In 2023, they finished third in the league standings.
The maestro of the game, Gambhir, is returning to the Kolkata Knight Riders as a mentor, a team owned by Bollywood King Shahrukh Khan, for the upcoming 2024 season. He steered KKR from 2011 to 2017. The team won titles twice under his captaincy: first in 2012 against Chennai Super Kings and secondly in 2014 against Kings XI Punjab.
On Wednesday, Nov 22 he shared a note on his social media account about quitting LSG mentorship.

I would like to thank DR. Sanjiv Goenka for his inspiring leadership while creating this remarkable franchise and for his tremendous support to all my endeavours. I’m sure that the team will do wonders in the future and will make every LSG fan proud. All the very best LSG brigade.”
Shahrukh Khan warmly welcomed him back to the KKR crew.
